Parker entertaining himself on the recliner! Not sure what he thinks is so funny but he was full of himself.

Milestones Update

Parker is so close to walking! He cruises everywhere but will let go and stumble to something close by. So far 4 steps is the most he has taken. He would much rather crawl on the floor and play with his cars and trucks. He is such a happy boy when he has cars and trucks to play with.
He did not get a tooth until he was almost a year old but boy did they show up quick. In a little less than a month he had four teeth in this order; bottom right, top left, top right and bottom left. Now there are two more showing beside his top two too! Whew! A month of teething straight!
Parker loves being a big boy. He wants to climb into his little rocking chair and up in the recliner all my himself. He would much rather feed himself than have us feed him which makes meal time difficult.
Parker has so much to say here lately but we have no idea what it is. He points at something and talks up a storm! "Words" that Mom and Dad understand are kitty, dog, truck (duh), mama, dada, nana and his jabber for his bath toy turtle.

First Steps
Parker started taking a couple of steps finally. It takes a lot of persuading but he has taken like 4 steps at one time so far. Before long we will be regretting wanting him to walk.

1 year 1 week and 1 day later

My best friend had her baby girl! I am so excited that she has a little one so close to Parker in age. I can not wait to go through this with her. We have been best friends since first grade and have experienced many firsts together. I think she is the most beautiful baby in the whole world : ) right after my Parker Man.

12 Month Check Up
Playing cars on the dirty floor at the doctor's office!
My big guy! He measured 30 inches long which put him at the 50th percentile. Weight was 21 pounds and 11 ounces at the 30th percentile and his head measure 18 1/2 inches at the 75th percentile. Dr. Dartt was happy with his progress. Pleased to know we are doing whole milk and told us to keep working on the sippy cup. We have decided to take out daytime bottles and once that is established we are going to take out his morning bottle followed by the night time bottle. He also had 3 shots today : ( We go back at 15 months for some more shots and then he will not need shots until he his 4 years old!

Cake... the day after
Leave it to Parker to do something the day after. The night after his party we came home from going out to eat and decided to eat leftover cake. Parker was all about it! He ate a couple of bites off my fork and then fed it to himself when I put it in front of him. After cake we gave him ice cream. Oh well, if it was a day late! Mom and Dad were there and that is what matters most : )

Parker's Birthday Cake
The cake! A downsize from the original plan but over all I was very happy with it.
He did not play in the cake AT ALL. Every bit of this mess was made by mom and dad. He refused to eat it or but his hands in it. We let him sit there for a few minutes but he just wasn't having it. So we cleaned him up and he ate a bowl of ice cream.
Mommy was as big of a mess! I tried everything I could to get him to play in it. But he was not having it. He even refused to eat the cake : (
Get me out of here!
Parker's Party Part I
Yep he is a "Big Guy" now!
Grammie and Grampy bought him a cozy coupe. He like it right away. He opened the door and started to climb in with no help from any of us.
Being the little climber he is; he tried to climb out
He decided he might like getting in the ball pit after all.
Granddad bought him a little 4-wheeler. It was a favorite too. He also received some Leap Frog toys, a V-tech toy, hot wheels, Little People airplane, Gap gift card, a started Savings Bond and some money for his college fund. It was an awesome day! Scott and I are so thankful for such a wonderful family. Thanks to everyone that made it a special day.

Parker's Birthday Gift from Mom and Dad
"What is this?"
Climbed up it right away!
Wee!
At first Parker didn't like the ball pit. He would cry if we sat him in it. He just sat on the outside and got the balls out and played with them. But once we had him slide down it he liked it a little bit better. Or course after about 10 minutes he was right back to playing with his cars! Tomorrow is his party with the family. We are so excited to spend all weekend with our little guy.
