May is over and June is halfway over!

It has been awhile since I have blogged but there is not a lot going on! Parker is growing like a weed and still up to the same old stuff. Amazing us with the things he has to say and playing with cars all day everyday : ) Here are some of my favorite pictures from the past couple of months in no particular order.

April Update

We found out Parker does not like ice cream : ) He just eats the Reese Pieces and not the ice cream

We got a haircut and felt aweseome.

We died Easter Eggs.

Parker found his love for Johnny Carinos like us : )

Of course he looked handsome on Easter!

Parker is now totally potty training and is acting more and more like a three year old everyday. Having full blown conversations with us and he is in the process of being enrolled at Montessori next year.

Potty Training Days 1,2 and 3

Day 1 was actually a half a day since it was on Sunday and we went to church. When we woke up from nap I took the diaper off and told him he would not be wearing diapers anymore. Let me back up and say that we had been talking about using the Potty A LOT! He knew it was coming. I let him drink juice cup after juice cup after juice cup. Basically he peed all over the house all night and was not really that successful. Every now and then we would get some pee in the potty but it wasn't because he had asked to go. We started a treasure box and giving mini Reese's for doing good things.

Day #2 was lots of bribery.  I let him watch Bubble Guppies while trying and kept up the rewards. I set the time for 20 minutes since juice goes thru him pretty quick and we went all the time. I would make him set for 3 to 5 minutes and we had lots of pee in the potty. I knew he had to poop but he ended up holding it all day. We had quite a few accidents but he was more aware of the dribbling and told me a couple times he had to go.

Day 3 was a great success. We only had once accident and he pooped in the potty. He was really scared about putting it in the potty. At lunch I knew he had to go so I took his undies off and took him in his room with his potty. In the past the bedroom is where he would go to poop so I thought he would feel more comfortable in there. I was right. He was so proud. I took his picture right after, gave him a truck and some Easter candy that Grammie and Grampy had brought over. His favorite part is dumping the goods in the potty.

I am hoping by the end of the week I can say he is fully potty trained :  ) Granted we still have to tackle going out in public and wearing pants. We are also doing diapers at nap and bedtime but he stays dry.

Storm Chase

Scott and I love to listen to storms so we talking to Parker about it last night. Parker liked to listen for the thunder and watch the lightning. I hope he is not scared of storms and likes them like we do.

February

Rare warm day at the beginning of February. He was so excited to get outside and play.

Making Valentine Day cards for all the people we love.
Checkin out his Cars shirt in the mirror. He pushed the chair into the bathroom from the kitchen.
With all his loot from Valentine's Day.
Making Valentine's Day cupcakes with Mommy and Daddy.

Warm enough to play golf outside with Daddy.

Parker's Pets

Parker loves his pets! Every night they all try to get as close to him as possible. He even uses Rancher as a pillow. I think Zoey would lay on his head if we would let her. But Milly keeps her distance. Parker gets on her nerves a little. But Parker says "that my favorite dog"

Learning New Things

Being a teacher I am always working on stuff with Parker; some of the things he can do are:

Recognize shapes; triangle, circle, star and square. We are working on rhombus, rectangle and heart
Recognize colors; red, yellow, blue and green. Those are the ones he always gets. We talk about plenty other.
Knows the letter "P".
Can sort things into colors.
Is great with spatial concepts! Over, under, behind, on top, beside, down, up, little, big etc...
He knows his address, age, our names and his last name.
He counts but it is still all over the place! We always get 1,2,3 but that is it so far.
He attempts to sing his ABCs but it is a crazy version too.

He is starting to learn to play memory and he is going to be good like his Mommy! We are up to playing with 12 cards and he is pretty good at it.

Long overdue update!

I started working on Parker's Year Three book and realized I have not wrote down much about what he is doing or taking as many pictures as I used to. That is probably because Parker is on the go! We are very blessed with what a good kid he is. We have hints of the terrible twos but nothing extreme. He can get hard headed about certain things but the tantrums are few and far between.

He talks all the time! He almost always talks in complete sentences and speaks very clearly. We are so impressed with how many words he can say and the things he picks up on. He has a great since of schedule and where he is going driving down the road. He can tells us where to turn to go places and catches us if we change the plans. He also has a great memory and doesn't forget any promises.

Eating wise he is still extremely picky and refuses to try any new foods. He lives on the smallest amount of food possible and would live on liquids if I would let him. We are slowly making progress with eating more but zero progress in eating new and different foods. Which is probably while he still weighs 29.5 pounds.

He still loves cars, trains and trucks but recently discovered Toy Story! We are so thankful for something different to play with. He has a castle that he plays with his "figurines". He also loves puzzles and reading his books.

There are kinds of funny things he does every day that I wish I could hold onto forever. The way he says words and his personality is awesome. I just wish I could bottle it up and save it forever : )
