New Years Eve

Scott and I spent New Years Eve with Parker. We started off with dinner at Guadalajara with Grammie and Grampy and then came home for some family time. After Parker went to bed we just watched TV and hung out together. It was a great way to wrap up 2009! Can't wait to see what Parker and 2010 bring our way : )

Santa was so good to Parker that we had to clear out some room in the guest bedroom for some of his toys. Plus we had to rearrange downstairs and redo the toy baskets in his room! We have a wonderful time with Parker while we have both been off work for the holidays. We are both sad to go back to work but ready to be back in a routine : )

New Years Resolution

So I am starting off 2010 almost finished with my training for the half marathon in Myrtle Beach on February 13th. I am pretty sure I will be running the half marathon in Lexington at the end of March and would like to do the half marathon in Louisville at the end of April. Then in the summer I would like to try out some biking and swimming to do a local sprint triathlon. With that being said I needed a year long goal to keep my butt in gear. So when a friend sent me a link to this blog I was instantly sold on the idea. I have been training with a girl from work and she is going to be my partner. We are each responsible for 1005 miles each. We have decided walking, running, biking, swimming and ellipticalling count. Bascially anyway you can get your mile in! 2.75 miles per day basically. But with our training schedule we will get in 10 miles or more on our long runs. Curious to see how long it takes us to hit 1005 or if we will be running like mad women next New Years Eve.

I guess my athletic abilities are now worthy or their own blog so I have created a blog for Kris and I to document our path to 2010 miles in 2010!

Christmas Part III

Santa dropped off a big present at Grammie and Grampy's house; it was a basketball goal for me to have there!

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve started at Great Grandmama and Great Grandaddy's house. We tried to get a 4 generation picture but this was the best it got.

Parker really liked the ride on giraffe from his Great Uncle Kelly and Sarah. He wanted it opened right away!

Christmas Eve Eve

Parker was helping Mommy cook food for Grammie and Grampy. He is into everything that is not a toy!  I am glad Christmas is here maybe the new toys will keep him out of the shower, toilet, my make-up bag, the remotes etc...

Mom and I have always acknowledged Christmas Eve Eve as its own holiday so last year when Parker was born we decided to make it a tradition to eat together on Christmas Eve Eve. It just good food (so far Mexican is the tradition) and a chance to spend time together just us. Christmas Eve and Christmas Day are so hectic we wouldn't some calm time to spend together. Parker had a blast showing off for Grammie and Grampy. He is talking up a storm and was showing off his best dance moves. He is really into dancing right now! More Christmas to come in the next couple of days.

Let the Traditions Begin!

Making Christmas candy has been a tradition to me for a long time. My mom always made Christmas candy; bourbon balls, fudge, peanut butter balls you name it! Even though she moaned and groaned the whole time she did it I know she loved it. I look back and laugh at all the failed Divinity and botched Potato Candy but have the memories of making candy from the "family recipies" (AKA Carnation Milk recipes). I have always made candy since I have lived on my own but today was my first chance to include Parker in the process.

Yum! The Peanut Butter Ball mixture was a hit! More up dates to come as the holidays progress. Christmas Eve Eve with my parents tonight! Yum! Mexican food : )

Not about Parker

Yesterday I ran in the snow for the first time. I was out the door at 8:30 am hoping to enjoy the white stuff while it was still pretty. It was a little cold but honestly not that bad. However, in the back of my head I was thinking "Really you could have just stayed in the house." While I was running I noticed other footprints from runners who were already out and about.A bout 2 miles in I ran past a group of runners I have watched run up and down Lexington Avenue for years.  I have always secretly wanted to be one of them but never knew how to start. But 8 months ago I decided to do a 5K to support a local charity and ran part of it and decided to run to get rid of the rest of the baby weight. Now here I am training for a half marathon! I couldn't run a block when I started. Now I run 4,5,6,7 and last week 8 miles. Granted I run SLOW (10:30 pace) and I have to stop and stretch two or three times but yesterday I was one of "them". I hope someone drove past me running and thought "She is crazy but I wish I could get up and run". It was a very inspirational run that is motivating me to run more while I am off work for Christmas break and possibly train for some other half-marathons.

Sorry to those of you that read my blog for Parker I had to have a mommy moment : ) Maybe one day my athletic abilities will be worthy of having their own blog. Until then I run slow and watch Ironman Kona while I work out on my elliptical!

but he is really cute! Parker thinks it is awesome that he can climb on top of the coffee table. I had to sneak and take the picture because I didn't want to encourage him.

Book!

Parker loves to get his books off the bookshelf and have me "read" to him; granted he mays attention for all of 15 seconds but I am still impressed that he is so into books. He loves to turn the pages and loves the baby's first word books that he can name things on the pages. He of course loves the one with the black "kitty".

Parker is wild at night and thinks I am his personal jungle gym. He is quite the climber. He is all over the couch, wants to stand on the coffee table and loves to stand on top of anything that will hold him and not fall over. His other newest milestone is saying "I see you". Scott and I thought we heard him say it a couple of weeks ago while he was hiding behind something. But we thought it was too soon for a three word sentence. However, he has been saying it a lot this week! Another cool thing he is doing is singing along with the ABC song. It is really cute to hear him chime in! Of course only Mommy hears it but I know what he is saying.

Not wanting to share; apparently they were not in the Christmas spirit! Stacy has a really cute picture of the boys sitting in the same spot from about the same time last year. They were all droopy headed and unable to sit on their own.

Parker and the Tree

Overall we have been very lucky about the three. We decorated in a kid safe way and put in a corner that makes it harder to get to but honestly he could care less about the tree. As for the presents he has no idea what they are or that he should be interested in them. But I am sure next year will be a whole different story.
