Too Plain?

So in my attempts to not find out the gender of the baby I am looking for bedding that makes me happy. It is really hard because I do not like the green and yellow stuff. I want to work with browns because I can easily add the appropriate gender color when baby gets here. I found this bedding at Babies R'Us a few weeks ago. It is plain and simple but it feels SO good. It is made from pure organic cotton and is SO SOFT. It is a little more expensive than I was planning on spending but if we can save money in other areas I wouldn't mind. I just worry that it is too plain. Any comments???

1st Trimester = Same ole' same ole'

Not much to say but every day is the same but different. Some days I am tired, some days I am queasy, some days I am fine, some days I have heartburn. Either way the first trimester is no fun and I can't wait for it to be over. I am 8 weeks today so if all goes I should see the light at the end of the tunnel in the next 4 or 5 weeks. I appreciate every one's comments giving me hope that it will end and the 2nd trimester will be better.
Please don't tell me anything bad about the 2nd trimester. Right now I am banking on it being the good one : )
Well I am off to sit on the recliner with my feet up and watch recorded Days of Our Lives! Productive I know!

I will post a new belly picture soon. I weighed today and I am still about 3 lbs. heavier than the day I found out I was pregnant. (I don't talk about the other 3 pounds I gained before that from the holidays!) I think my weight gain is from a combination of drinking more calories (Sprite and Gatorade) and napping almost everyday. BUT my doctor was fine because she said anything you do to survive the first trimester is OKAY with here. Even if it means always having an animal cracker or 100 calorie pack in my hand.

There was only ONE!

So we had our first ultrasound yesterday! It was awesome. We saw the "baby" which is of course a really small peanut looking thing but it was still miraculous. But the best part is we heard the heart beat. 125 beats for minute, so for those of you that follow old wives's tales that means it is a boy. And no twins for us! There was a SMALL chance with the Clomid but she looked really hard and there was just one.
Sorry the quality is so bad but my scanner is being ugly so I just took a picture of it with my camera. Hopefully I will get my scanner working for the better ultrasound pics in the future.

Never Ending Headache

Oh how I already miss taking 3 Advil when I get a headache. I have had a headache since yesterday morning and can not get rid of it. I have taken Tylenol since that is the only pain reliever I can take. I have tried putting a cold washcloth on my head (worked for about 2 minutes). Then I tried a warm washcloth for a little while, the helped the most. But last night while I was trying to sleep the headache came back and it has been with me all morning. I can not wait to go to the doctor on Tuesday to see what is going on. I really think I have some type of Iron deficiency or something. My mom had trouble with that during one of her pregnancies so I am hoping there is a curable reason behind my never ending plethora of symptoms (other than just being pregnant). Yes, I know I am a big baby but anyone that knows me knows I do not DO sick. I am rarely sick and do not handle becoming uncomfortable at all. You think I have a hard 9 months ahead of me or what? More like does Scott have a hard 9 months ahead of him! I bet he changes his mind on having more than one real quick!

Bucket List is a MUST see

Scott and I went to see Bucket List on Saturday night and it was awesome. The movie is about to men (Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman) who are only given months to live. So they make a list of all the things they want to do before the "kick the bucket". I laughed so hard the whole movie and then at the end you are crying your eyes out.
Then again I have been a mixed bag of emotions here lately. The other morning I was watching reruns of Beverly Hills 90210 while I was cleaning and I bawled when the Senior class protested for Donna Martin to graduate after she got drunk at prom. So the average person may not cry near as much as I did but I still recommend everyone to go see the Bucket List!

Just Part of the Routine

I am amazed at how many women I talk to say "Oh, my morning sickness was part of my routine" of "You get used to it". Seriously constant nausea and morning sickness is a fate worse to death the me. Anyone that knows me knows I do not throw up and would do anything to avoid throwing up. In the past 10 years I think I could count on one hand how many times I have thrown up. It is just not something I deal with easily.
Therefore I took the day off of work today. I really did not want to because I hate missing work and I will need my sick days for maternity leave and more important things later. But I was just physically, mentally and emotional drained.
I know I am not having a difficult pregnancy by any means I was just hoping I would be one of those No symptoms people. Oh well, I am know after these 9 months are over it will all be worth it and I will be a stronger person because of it. Maybe these is the lesson in life I needed to learn not to be such a big baby about being sick.
Thanks to everyone that checks the blog so often!

Baby Bedding

As most of you know Scott and I are considering not finding out the sex of the baby. Scott really wants to be suprised and I am some where in the middle. I am just such a planner and know I would have better peace of mind of mind if I knew. However, I can see the fun in not knowing. My only complaint is the yellow and green. I do not like mint green and sunshine yellow. I am thinking out putting that on baby shower invitations "Do NOT get me green and yellow" Just kidding!

Another big obstacle for me is the bedding but we have been looking to see if there is anything neutral enough to please me.

This first one is a find by Scott. I am okay with it but just feel like it says boy....

The next picture would not post so here is a link to the web page:
http://www4.jcpenney.com/jcp/X6H.aspx?DeptID=42249&CatID=42342&GrpTyp=ENS&ItemID=12ff995&attrtype=&attrvalue=&CmCatId=42249423304234142342
That should take you to a brown and teal plaid bedding set that I like. I think I could make it pass for a boy or a girl.

Suggestions are welcome. Hey you are welcome to google baby bedding and let me know what you find. Remember the key is gender neutral!

5:00 PM Sickness!

(This is how active I have been the past couple of weeks)

Who needs morning sickness when you can get surprised by 5:00 sickness! That is right it finally hit. Oh well part of it. I just hope it is not an everyday thing. But I would honestly be sick in the comfort of my own bathroom instead of a stall at Toliver.

Also, I have heartburn today HORRIBLE. I have yet to try TUMS because the thought of chewing one up makes me want to gag.

Well you all have asked for updates and there it is. Pleasant I know. I bet I am really making some people want to try to get pregnant.

I am sure I will be more positive and up beat next week when I get back from my first ultra-sound.

Why pregnant women get fat....

It is not because they eat whatever they want or they crave things. It is because during the first couple of weeks they have NO energy. I have never been so completely exhausted from doing nothing. I do pretty good during the work week but once the weekend hits I want to SLEEP. And I mean sleep all day. Yesterday I woke up at 8:30 and watched TV until 12:30. Went back to sleep and woke up at 4:00. Scott and I went out to eat and to Wal-mart. Once we came home I was asleep within an hour.
I still have been finding the time to work out most days but it is really frustrating not to have more energy. Oh well they say this passed towards the end of the first trimester and that I will have all sorts of energy in the second trimester. We shall see.

Morning Sickness

Morning Sickness or not? I have started feeling sort of yucky in the mornings. No sickness at all just a light headed, everything stinks and nothing sounds good to eat. I have always had problems with my stomach in the morning so I will not be surprised if I do get full blown morning sickness. I REALLY hope not but I know morning sickness is a good sign of a healthy pregnancy.

Weight gain? Don't know. I am only going to weigh on Tuesdays when I switch weeks because I do not see the need to obsess over my weight. I am eating well and working out a few times a week so I do not think I will balloon up to quick. Once my pants get WAY to tight I will start keeping a closer eye on my weight.

The other two things bothering me the most are being TIRED (I went to be at 7:15 last night) and my moods. Yesterday I was irritable and not in a good mood. Tonight I am emotional and needy. But hey it is my birthday! I can be selfish and needy if I want to, right?

Pregnancy Goals

Seeing as it is the New Year and all I thought I would set myself some pregancy goals on top of my personal goals:

1. Eat Healthy and limit the amount of junk I eat
2. Continue to work out in moderation (3-5 days on the elliptical at a slower pace)
3. Be proud of my tummy and not afraid to show it off
4. Not become a neurotic pregnant woman
5. Enjoy my pregnancy to the fullest!

First Belly Shot

The last time my belly will be nice and flat for awhile : ( It is funny I always complain about not being as skinny as I use to or that my stomach doesn't look good. But after I took this picture I thought "That may be the last time my belly ever looks that good"

Oh well! It is worth it. I really don't think I have gained but like 1 pound this first month. Unfortunately I found out I was pregnant right after the holidays so I couldn't shed my holiday weight. On Dec. 23rd I weighed 113.5 so I am going to count that as my pre-pregnancy weight. Right now I am weighing around 116-118 (depending on the day). But I think almost all of that is holiday weight!

I will post belly shots anytime I think there is a noticeable change. One of my pregnancy goals is to be proud of my belly and show it off! I am even planning on showing it off in a 2 piece at the beach this summer : ) Unless there is more than one in there and I really am a BLIMP!

Good news from Doctor

So Scott and I went to the doctor on Friday, Jan. 4th for our first appointment with the doctor. It was just a consolation because Dr. Onan wanted to see me since I had the miscarriage last time. Well we did a second round of blood work and....... it was 113 on Monday and on Friday it was 1,261! Woo Hoo! It more than did what is should. It is suppose to at least double every 48 hours and I was expecting 500 something when I went. So needless to say we were more than pleased with the results.
We go back to the doctor on Jan. 22nd for our first ultra sound. More up dates sure to come.

Two lovely pink lines

Yes I took a picture! But after you have taken countless home pregnancy test to only see one little line it was wonderful to see a positive test. I even got the box out to make sure that was what a positive looked like. We found out New Year's Eve morning at 4:45 AM. We were so excited we could not go back to sleep. So instead of calling and waking our parents up TOO early we went to Arby's for breakfast and then to Wal-Mart.
I called and woke my mother up at 6:15 causing her to almost injure herself making it to the phone. We were a little nicer to Scott's mom and held off until 7:00 (but we still woke her up). We started off by only telling a few friends but we have each told someone else as the days have went on. I had one round of blood work at my family doctor and my HCG levels were good at 113. I go to my girly doctor on Friday and I am going to have them do more blood work then.
Once I see that my levels are going up I know I will feel more confident that everything will be okay.
Scott and I have chosen to tell that we are early for two reasons: One everyone knew we were trying and we weren't going to lie about being pregnant. Two everyone was so supportive when we lost the pregnancy in June that we know we will receive the same support IF it were to happen again.
Keep us in your thoughts and prayers and there will be many more updates to come!
