Cupcakes!

Parker was very excited to try out some Twisted Sifter cupcakes. They had their Grand Opening today so we went by to get Mommy some belated birthday cupcakes. Scott had the peach cobbler and Parker and I tried the free vanilla and chocolate they were giving out. I still have a Margarita cupcake and Peanut Butter Banana waiting in the kitchen : ) I tried to teach him how to lick the icing off his fingers but he preferred to wipe it off on his shirt. 

Goldfish Junkie

Parker loves his goldfish. He is always wants "gofish" from the pantry. Tonight he helped himself to the pantry and brought the box in the living room for a end of the night snack. As you can tell he was really full of himself and thought he was big. Wonder if Goldfish would pay for these adorable pictures? 

Many Faces of Parker

Parker likes smiling for the camera! It is hard to get a good picture of him anymore since he wants to be six inches from the camera. Notice the spoon in the picture. That plastic spoon has been one of his favorite toys for about  a week now. His another favorites are books and pots & pans. 

Parker Update

 Parker is having a blast right now! He is talking up a storm and all over the place. We are so lucky he is such a good kid. He plays with his toys by himself most of the time. He tries to get remotes and play in the toilet but for the most part he keeps out of "our stuff". He likes to play with things that are like Mommy and Daddy's. He loves to get into pots and pans and talk on his cell phone. He is quite the climber which we knew was going to happen. So far he climbs all over the couch, on and off all the beds and ALL chairs : ) Luckily he has not even attempted to climb out of the crib YET. We are trying to hold off the toddler bed for as long as possible since Parker does not love taking naps.

Parker is going to one nap a day at the babysitter. He is finally taking it later in the day so he is not cranky at night when I get home with him from work. Night time sleep has been disturbed here lately because Parker has had his fourth ear infection in 2 months. On top of that he has gotten 3 molars in the past few weeks. He got top and bottom on the right side in one day back around Christmas. Last week the bottom on the left poke through a little; still waiting on top left. So that makes 9 teeth! Chomp! Chomp! 4 on top front, bottom 2 and three molars. So lots of re-medicating in the middle of the night and some nights of sleeping in the guest room with Mom or Dad.

Words that Parker says: Daddy, Mama (very rarely : ( ), Nana, Tami, dog, kitty, juice, eat, cheese, truck, ball, dunk, "get" for blanket, Uh-oh, and lots of other jibberish that Mommy understands : )

Right now our only issue is eating. He does not eat ANYTHING : ( His basic diet consists of milk cups, juice/water cups, goldfish, pizza, waffles, bananas, peanut butter crackers, cheese and oatmeal cereal. NO Veggies and NO fruits. We offer him a variety of foods all the time but he will go a meal or two without eating anything at all : ( Any suggestions from any of the veteran parents out there?

Gymnastics

Parker had a blast at the Birthday Party today. It was at KC's Gymnastics and he was able to run around and do all kinds of fun things. He liked jumping with Mommy on the trampoline and sliding into the big foam pit. As much as I don't want him to get any bigger I am really enjoying that he can do bigger things.

Daddy threw a snowball... Over it! But we have pictures of "Parker's first snow" now we don't have to this again until next year when he might actually care that there is snow outside! : )

Monica on the go gave me a blogger award : ) Finally all my hard work has paid off. Looks the rules are post 7 thing about myself and then give this reward to 7 other people.

1. I started this blog in June of 2007 when I first got pregnant. Unfortunately I miscarried but I kept the blog going while I tried to get pregnant and then blogged about being pregnant. Obviously I have kept it going for some time now. Parker was 16 months old yesterday.

2. I have lived in or near Danville my whole life. Born in Perryville (very small town), was in the same school system K-12, went to Western Kentucky University for a short amount of time and then EKU and finally Asbury for my Masters.

3. I am totally LAZY. It is a very conscious effort to work out and do the daily things in life. I could sit around and not shower all day! That is what I have to have something work for; i.e. the half-marathon and 2010 miles in 2010.

4. I teach Special Education and love my job even though I whine and moan most days of the week. My kids are very difficult and frustrating but I love them and want them to succeed in life.

5. I eat JUNK. I could live off of chicken fingers, hamburgers, chocolate and snacks foods. That is why I have to be super strict about eating. Basically it is not allowed in the house because one bite and it is a downhill battle. I do not ANY veggies and rarely eat fruits.

6. I only want one child. Despite everyone I know insisting it makes me a bad parent not to provide Parker with a sibling.

7. I still love my dogs. Everyone said "Once you have a child you will not love them so much" NOT true. Granted they frustrate me a little more but I would still do anything for them and love them more than most people : )

Snow Day

Parker checking out the white stuff on the deck. I am hoping we get a couple of inches so we can take him outside in it. He has never been outside to play in the show. He was too little last year and we have not had more than a dusting at our house this year.

Parker and Puppy

Parker liked the puppy and the puppy really liked Parker. Too bad Parker will not get a puppy of his own until the two he has are old and gray.
