Funs Over

Yep! 34 weeks is officially where is all goes down hill. All of a sudden I feel HUGE and PREGNANT! Oh wait I am! I am one big complaint of aches and pains. Hips, legs, feet, arms, pinky toe you name it! It feels different. Oh well, the thought of meeting Parker is enough to make it feel worth it. I however don't know if I will ever let him live down the stretch marks he is causing. I can thank my wonderful mother for that gene!
Good news is I am sleeping through the night for the most part. I have been working my butt off in the nursery and now on school stuff so I think I am just exhausted at the end of the night. Despite the latest feelings of utter pain and discomfort I have still enjoyed my pregnancy and know all the unhappiness will soon be forgotten when I see my precious baby boy!

Pack N Play

We have a Pack N Play and are very excited! I put ours together tonight but I stole the pictures from the internet because they were better quality. We are so excited to have the one we wanted. It will look good in the living room and it has all kinds of neat stuff. We owe a huge THANKS to Scott, Stacy, Abby, Marci, Markus, Gage, Shane, Tami, Miranda, Sophie, Angie, Mike and Mallory! Wow! Thanks guys we LOVE IT!

Friend's Shower

I had the best shower yesterday! Casey did an awesome job being the shower hostess as usual! Everything was too cute I should have taken more pictures but I was being lazy in my comfy chair.
Everyone gave us such great gifts. We did not get one thing we didn't need or want!
One of my personal favorites! The "red" Baby Gap clothes items that I am praying will fit at Christmas.
An obvious favorite of everyone. Parker's name in black and white pictures. Hard to explain in words, you just have to see it in person.
The gang minus Grammy (taking the picture) and Jamie who had to leave early. I am so thankful for all the gifts I received and for everyone that could make it. Understandably a few people could not make it and that is okay : ) Can't wait to share Parker with you all when he gets here! Not to soon though!

Nursery Update

We made a curtain! Its not perfect but we made it and we are using it. We wanted to be able to make the nursery more dark for night time so we bought a black out shade that rolls up and covered in brown fabric to match the bedding. Sound easy? Well it is not! The edges are a little choppy in places from trimming the fabric and we used spray glue so there are a couple of glue spots. But we did it together and it is going up! Plus we spent $18 to make it and don't want to have to spend $20 to try again or buy another shade.
I have also started putting stuff away and organizing. I have a shower tomorrow so I am going to really start working on the nursery after that. I have a family shower on August 10th but that is pushing the start of school so I am going to get a lot done before then. I will post more pictures when I have more stuff put away.

Montgomery Cook Out

Scott and I decided to have a little mini get together for our friends with kids. Not everyone could make it because it was a little short notice. But we had a great time! We feel so blessed to have joined up with such great people. We always have a good time together no matter what we are doing. Everyone has kids and Stacy and I are even due a couple weeks apart with our baby boys!

Too hot for the preggo one! Yea! Abby is in the pool! Not for long though!

Could it be I exceeded the weight limit? Don't worry I did not slide down I just sat in the bottom. And I really didn't make the stake come out of the ground all on my own!

Bargain Shopping

At this point of pregnancy maternity clothes are no longer cute and fun. They are strictly a functional item that you need to not be naked. I can not justify spending money on something I am going to wear for no more than 7 more weeks. So I have become a bargain shopper. If it was regular price I didn't even consider buying it. I think I came out pretty good. I spent $90 and came home with 2 dresses, 1 pair of bermudas and 5 shirts from Old Navy online. So worst case scenario is if I outgrow everything I have right now I can stilll make it to my due date. I have two pairs of capris that are very giving and they will make it until the end for sure. So 2-4 dresses, 3 bottoms and 5 shirts is going to make up my wardrobe soon. I dare anyone to comment on my lack of style in the last days of pregnancy!

Doctor's Appointment and Comfort Measures

Yesterday I had another doctor's appointment (I am going every 2 weeks at this point). It went well as usual. Parker's heartbeat was 146 and all of my measurements were good. The good doc only has me down for 28 lbs of weight gain while at home I have closer to 35. So I think we will just go with what the doctor has. I am getting ready to start going weekly which does not thrill me at all but I know it is part of it.

That night Scott and my mom went with me with a Comfort Measures class that Central Baptist offers. I enjoyed it and would recommend it to other first time couples. They showed us all the different relaxation positions and ways to breathe. Basically it is for how you deal with the pain until you get the epidural. I am planning on getting an epidural but wanted to be prepared for dealing with pain until they could get to me. I doubt I will make it very long without an epidural but at least we will know how to attempt to deal with pain.

I am very anxious for Parker to arrive. I still do not want him to come early but my comfort level and desire to meet him are making it really hard not to just want him here! I have my shower with all of my friends this weekend and I am so excited to see everyone and get great things for Parker. Scott and I are so blessed to have so many people in our life that are excited about him getting here! Thanks to everyone that is checking the blog so often and for all the wonderful comments about my maternity pictures. When she gets all the proofs ready to view online I will post the link and the password. I think I will need help in my decision making because so many are going to be so good.

More Maternity Pictures

Here are some more maternity pictures that Cilla posted on her blog.

Maternity Pictures

My maternity pictures yesterday went awesome. I can not put into words what a could job Cilla did with our photo shoot. The creativity and ideas she came up with were awesome. I have only seen two of the edited pictures but can tell the rest are going to be unreal. I am just scared I will go broke wanting to order them all :)
If anyone is having pictures made of themselves or of children I highly recommend her. The best part is she comes to your home so it leads to a more relaxed atmosphere.

Chiropractor

So I decided to give the chiropractor a shot to help with this ridiculous amount of back pain I have been in. I have had trouble before with my back and my old doctor was a D.O. so he would realign me every so often. Well the doctor today told me the same thing my old doctor told me; my right leg is 1 1/2 inches shorter than my left. So that contributes to back pain when I am not pregnant. Well combine always shifting my weight because of my legs being different and pregnancy putting you in a constant state of being off balance and you get severe back pain. Today he did an allignment and therapy and I go back on Thursday to see how things are going. My insurance allows me to go to the chiropractor 26 times a year so I am thinking why not use them all up to survive pregnancy : ) Here is to sleeping tonight! Since I only had 4 hours last night. Talk about preparation for baby.

Great Expectations Class

Last night Scott and I had our first maternity class at the hospital. It was sort of informational but a lot of information I already knew. Scott said it helped to understand how it all "works, ie. dilating, contractions, where it all is. All that kind of stuff a man doesn't just know about. We both enjoyed the slide show tour of the hospital. We know where to get when I go into labor, what the rooms looks like and found out some good information about the security at the hospital.
There was also a video of a birth which was not that bad but one dad to be had to walk out of the room and on the way out he passed out so that added some excitement to the class. And there was a video on the epidural which is one of the parts I am most scared about. I did find out the answer to a question I had been wanting to ask. Once you get the epidural you can not get out of the bed. I am the type of person that when I am in pain, nervous, scared or uncomfortable I like to get up and move around. So it makes me a little nervous that I will be confined to a bed.
We are both really looking forward to our next class which is the class on breathing, pushing and positions for having the baby. I am sure you could have a baby without attending any of these classes but I tend to worry and need to know what is going on, so it helps me to establish some peace of mind.

Anyone have any suggestions for back pain? Sitting is pretty much impossible at this point (for longer than 30 minutes). At night I honestly think I am dying at some points of the night. I have spasms that keep me up for hours at a time. I am thinking about going to the chiropractor.
Just wondering if anyone else had/has really bad back pain while pregnant.

Guadalajara

I think Parker may be Hispanic...... why else would someone eat Guadalajara three nights in a row? Just kidding! I seriously think I should see how many days I can go in a row before I get sick or it or just get sick period. I am all about some salsa right now. I had a whole bowl tonight (followed by a little heartburn medicine)! I just hope he enjoys eating when he gets big because I can't imagine going more than a week without a little Guadys!

Lets Be Honest

How am I feeling? Umm... miserable. Yep there I said it! No more sugar coating it I am miserable. I want my body back and I want to be able to sleep. Yeah the truth is not pretty but it is how I feel. I would say any woman who remembers 30+ weeks of pregnancy would agree.
Is it worth it? Well heck yeah it is but I still feel like crap. I think I have grown like 10 inches around in the past 2 days. My face looks swollen (haircut not a good idea) My back hurts unless I stand...and guess what you can't sleep standing up! Therefore I sleep in 30 minute intervals! The night I do have decent sleep I get heartburn because I have been laying "flat" for too long. Flat being in quotes because I am sleeping on a mountain of pillows. There is something else I can complain about: builing the Great Pyramid of Pillows every night to go to bed AND THEN when you come back to pee (I go 5 times a night) you get to do it AGAIN.
There I said it.... I am miserable!
But I would do it again in a heartbeat and I still want him to stay in there for as long as possible but I felt like putting that out in the open! I promise I won't go make you suffer to my complaining if you see me out and ask how I am doing : )

4th of July

Scott and I had a great 4th of July. Friday the 4th was yucky so the cookout we were going to go to was canceled. We spent the day driving around looking for furniture for the nursery. No successes. But we did get two cute pairs of Nikes on clearance. Scott loves little tennis shoes for babies so I hope these satisfy his need to buy Nikes for Parker. One pair is a size 4 and the other is a size 6 so Parker will have to wait before he gets to wear them. Luckily tennis shoes are not seasonal. That night we came home and watched movies. It was a nice do nothing kind of day.

Saturday was spent with our good friends the Pingletons. They had a "moving" cook out and bon fire. Good times for all! Sunday I woke up bright an early on a mission to clean our master closet. We ended up clearing out 8 bags full of clothes. Before we took off for Guadys my mom stopped by with one of the items she made Parker. It is a flannel dog blanket that is too cute for words. This picture does not do it justice. It is is going to be perfect for tummy time! You can click on the picture on make it bigger and get a little better look.

I had a doctor's appointment today and she said everything looks great. I will go back in 2 more weeks. I think it is a little silly to go every 2 weeks right now but I guess it is important. I just don't think there is too much they can catch by looking at me for five minutes. Oh well I did get to hear his heartbeat which is always fun. It was 145! Which was higher than usual. He also had the hiccups and I could hear him hiccupping while she was getting his heartbeat.
If you need me this week I will be at the pool!

Fancy Toes

If you have to break down and pay to get your toes painted you might as well do it up right. My toes are brown with pink polka dots and the big toes has a flower on it! Hard to tell in the picture but I think they look pretty good. I will have to google "toe designs" or something to get an idea for the next time. I also went to get my hair cut and hi-lites touched up. I feel like a new woman : )

Tired and Can't Sleep

So basically I can NOT sleep at night but I want to sleep all day. You think Parker is trying to tell me something? At night I can NOT get comfortable with pillows and I hate sleeping on my side. I also have this whole restless leg syndrome thing going on. My legs are crampy and tingly all night long. SO I spend all night tossing and turning or peeing (I think I went 5 times last night). Fun times, huh?
The weird thing is I can sleep anywhere during the day. So basically I have not been productive at all the past couple of weeks. I want to get into the whole nesting thing maybe that will over ride the napping. I have the desire to clean everything and organize clothes but napping wins every time.
Off to the pool again!
