Halloween 2009

Parker didn't like his costume at first.
Deciding he looked pretty cute in it while he was at Mamaw and Papaw's house. He was really happy after Papaw gave him an Almond Joy.

Climbing at Nana Pauline's house. She had an awesome goodie bag for him!

Since Daddy had to work Grammie and Grampy hung out with us all night. Since Grammie and Grampy gave him such a big bag of candy we just skipped trick or treating and went to the next best thing...

Carving Pumpkins

Didn't like it right from the start! Parker had zero interest in carving pumpkins.
So we tried to get him interested. Lets see what happens if we put one of his cars IN the pumpkin.

"You put MY car IN the pumpkin... GROSS!
At least he sat by them for a picture.

Brr! Winter is coming!

Parker is finding out how much he had it made last year. Last year we put him in the infant carrier and threw a blanket on him and went. He was able to just lay there in cozy warmness. NOW we have to zip him up, stick a hat on his head and almost cut off his circulation to take him out on a cold day! Get ready buddy it gets colder.

Car makes great toys anywhere...

I opened the cabinet for Parker to play with the pots and pans and leave it to him to find a way to add his cars to it. Instead of playing with the pots and pans Parker pushed his cars around the cabinet.

Options

What a mess?!? Parker loves getting everything out and playing with it. This day I was cleaning out his toy basket and Parker was having a hard time choosing what to play with.

Monkey Hat

Sorry buddy! But I had to buy the monkey hat : ) Scott and I spent part of our day without Parker looking for winter coat. We found a great deal at K-Mart of all places and saw this little monkey hat hanging there. I am not a big fan of making your kid look goofy but this was cute!

Yep.. He is walking!

After lots of practice Parker has finally decided it is time to walk. Right around his first birthday he would take 4 or 5 steps at a time when you were coaxing him into. Last week on fall break he was really practicing. He was standing by himself for long periods of time and walking 10-15 steps to get to something or someone. Finally this weekend he has walked more than he has crawled. He walked from the far side of our living room into the kitchen and can get from sitting to standing in the middle of the floor. It has been quite the process! But I am calling 13 months and 1 1/1 weeks old as the age Parker started walking.

"Kitty!"

Parker loves the cat. Whenever it walks in the room he starts pointing and yelling "kitty, kitty, kitty". Unfortunately his /k/ sound is more of a /t/ sound : ) He wallers the poor thing to death. But she just lays there and takes it. I had a cute picture of Rancher joining in but blogger was having a hard time uploading more than one picture this morning.
It is sad that Parker says kitty more than he says Mama. He first words were Daddy, Mama and Kitty. He is working on dog, ball and book.

Trip to Granddad's Farm

We took a little trip to Granddad's farm (too bad he wasn't there). But we still fed the new baby Jenny some graham crackers.

Watching the cows with daddy.

Family Day

Lounging with the doggies and mommy.
What a handsome boy!

Eating food off the plate like a big boy.
When do we get to put some of these lights up at our house?

Running Buddies

Every now and then Parker gets to take his doggy for a run with us! They both do so good. I never hear a peep out of Parker and Milly just trots along with her leash tied to the stroller.

Jumpstart: Read for the Record!

Parker doing his part to promote reading at home! We try to read at least one book during some part of the day. So this morning I made sure to bring out The Very Hungry Caterpillar. I hope everyone reads it at home with their little one today! If you don't have a copy you can get one at Wal-Mart for $8; then log on and get counted. It is a great program that provides books to low income families and schools.

Mommy finally got a matching hat...

Last year for Valentine's day I bought Parker and Scott matching hats. This year I decided to order a hat for myself. These are some pictures from Scott's phone so the quality is not that great.

Fall Break: Finger painting

Trying to make the most of my time home with Parker! I have been recording Sesame Street so we can watch it together. He loves Elmo's World! I decided to try finger painting today and he really seemed to like it. He wanted to play with the spoons more than anything. Good thing it was just flour, water and food coloring. In the process of planning more activities for the rest of the week.

Finally something Parker can do on the laptop...

I found a cute game on Fisher Price's website. Basically Parker just bangs on they keys and little animals pop up and say peek a boo and there is music. He always wants to come over and get on the computer when I am on it but there is nothing he can do without messing something up. In this game the ABC keys, number keys and space bar are all safe to hit. So there is less chance of Parker messing something up. It was nice because once he played for like 2 minutes he moved on and left me alone : )
