April Update

We found out Parker does not like ice cream : ) He just eats the Reese Pieces and not the ice cream

We got a haircut and felt aweseome.

We died Easter Eggs.

Parker found his love for Johnny Carinos like us : )

Of course he looked handsome on Easter!

Parker is now totally potty training and is acting more and more like a three year old everyday. Having full blown conversations with us and he is in the process of being enrolled at Montessori next year.

Potty Training Days 1,2 and 3

Day 1 was actually a half a day since it was on Sunday and we went to church. When we woke up from nap I took the diaper off and told him he would not be wearing diapers anymore. Let me back up and say that we had been talking about using the Potty A LOT! He knew it was coming. I let him drink juice cup after juice cup after juice cup. Basically he peed all over the house all night and was not really that successful. Every now and then we would get some pee in the potty but it wasn't because he had asked to go. We started a treasure box and giving mini Reese's for doing good things.

Day #2 was lots of bribery.  I let him watch Bubble Guppies while trying and kept up the rewards. I set the time for 20 minutes since juice goes thru him pretty quick and we went all the time. I would make him set for 3 to 5 minutes and we had lots of pee in the potty. I knew he had to poop but he ended up holding it all day. We had quite a few accidents but he was more aware of the dribbling and told me a couple times he had to go.

Day 3 was a great success. We only had once accident and he pooped in the potty. He was really scared about putting it in the potty. At lunch I knew he had to go so I took his undies off and took him in his room with his potty. In the past the bedroom is where he would go to poop so I thought he would feel more comfortable in there. I was right. He was so proud. I took his picture right after, gave him a truck and some Easter candy that Grammie and Grampy had brought over. His favorite part is dumping the goods in the potty.

I am hoping by the end of the week I can say he is fully potty trained :  ) Granted we still have to tackle going out in public and wearing pants. We are also doing diapers at nap and bedtime but he stays dry.
