New Ride

We finally got one! For the past few months we have been talking about wanting a Nissan Pathfinder and last night we bought one. It is a 2008 Pathfinder with pretty much everything you could want. Some of the coolest features that we like the most are Moon roof, DVD player, dual temperature control, 3 row seating and our iPod hooks up into it. It was a bigger purchase than we had planned for but it will be our vehicle for a LONG time. Hopefully our family will soon be bigger to fill it up.

Aunt Twila is the BEST!

Scott's nieces and nephews were at our house for Christmas and I think I won them over as the best aunt ever. I had put together a toy box downstairs with a variety of games and toys. Scott and I hooked up the TV so they could play video games and we had DVDs for them to watch. BUT the best treat of all was the cookies! I made sugar cookies before the kids got there and had icing for them to decorate cookies for Santa. They were in heaven.

Christmas Summary

Baby Mia made her debut! I finally got to hold her at the end of the night.
Scott cleaned his first turkery to fry.
Scott frying the first turkey. I missed him dropping it in. But this is right after. The turkey was great and a big hit. Thanks Ping for the awesome recipe.

We talked the family into taking a family picture. Yes that is 17 people at my house! It was great and I would do it again next year.
Scott and I in front of the tree.
Milly with her new Christmas present. Rancher was too busy playing in wrapping paper to stand still long enough for a picture.
That is the basic summary of Christmas. There were lots more stops and family but I didn't have my camera handy at all times. We also spend a lot time with my Mom and Barry at their house. We even made a trip to Perryville to see my dad's side of the family. Overall it was a great Christmas.
What did Santa bring me? I got new everyday dishes for the house, 2 Vera Bradley bags and wallet, a new iPod and a new Fossil watch. Scott made out pretty good too with a dartboard for the basement, new dress clothes, tennis shoes, UK stuff for the basement and other various items.
Hope everyones Holidays were as great as ours!

Annual Girls Night Get Together

A couple times of year the girls from high school get together. Since it was so close to Christmas everyone couldn't make it but we still had a great time! We love getting together and catching up on each other. Plus it is a great time to find out what other people are up to! I hope we can keep this tradition going for many years to come.

The 2 Week Wait

Scott and I are in the two week wait. We know I ovulated this month thanks to the ovulation predictors and we have taken the other necessary step. Now we just wait. You can not test until at least 14 days after ovulation so we should be able to test on New Year's Eve. We are so anxious. Again we feel like this month will be the month. Say a little prayer and I will keep everyone updated!

These are a few of my favorite things.....

Presents under the tree. I get more excited about watching others unwrapping presents than unwrapping presents myself.
Getting Christmas cards in the mail. They always make me smile.

The scarecrow from the Wizard of Oz!
The cowardly lion ornament.
My nativity set. I recieved part of for my wedding and each year my Mother in Law adds to it.
My real Christmas tree. We are going to plant it in our yard after Christmas and we will have our first tree. The bow on top is another favorite!

Wizard of Oz Christmas bell ornaments! Dorothy and the Tinman. New addition my mom brought back from her trip on the Polar Express. Instantly a favorite!

Inspirational Video

I know Scott and I have not been trying for a really long time but the stress and anxiety of not being able to get pregnant really wears on you emotionally. I have recently been chatting with other women who suffer from Infertility on a support group at www.dailystrength.com One of the women sent me this video to watch while I was going through a rough patch. I do not know how to put the video on here but I will try. Until then here is the link to the page.

http://tearsandhope.com./emptyarms_video.html

I think it really puts into words the way Scott and I have felt some days. Granted we have not waited, waited and waited but there are times when emotionally we have been weak and in need of support.

Clomid Side Effects AGAIN!

I just finished round 2 of my Clomid and my symptoms are back on. I have had hot flashes and the tingly anxious feeling is really bad this time.
I looked up Clomid some more on the Internet and I found where Clomid triggers you brain to release certain chemicals. I guess that is why it has such an effect on your whole body.
Wish me luck as I hope this month is the month!

Christmas Spirit

This year I am really in the Christmas Spirit. We have had our tree up and house decorated since Thanksgiving. I am done with Christmas shopping minus two people. I have all my presents wrapped and under the tree!
I am having Christmas on Christmas Eve for Scott's family. Usually stuff like that would stress me out but I am so excited about having everyone in our house and just enjoying each other's company.
We have really planned a more laid back Christmas this year. We are even doing a pajama night at my mom's house on Christmas night. We are trying really hard to enjoy everyone's company and just have a good time.

Merry Christmas early to everyone!

BFN

Well as they say in infertility chat I got a BFN (big fat negative). So I will be starting up Clomid round 2. Woo Hoo! Hot flashes and weird tingly feeling here I come.
Actually we are doing just fine with our recent news and are still anxious for maybe a late Christmas surprise : )
Next time I home the title says BFP (big fat positive)
Sorry the blog is so short but I must get back to my mound of homework in front of me. My final project is due on the 10th and I am hours away : (

Nothing New

I have not updated because there is nothing to report. I have been working and trying to wrap up my semester of classes!
It is still to early to know anything in the baby department. I am hoping for a Christmas surprise.
Come out tonight to the parade and see me and Milly in the parade. Her doggie daycare is having a float and she is going to be in the parade : )
I hope to have pictures to post.

Thanksgiving

Scott and I had a wondeful Thanksgiving. We were able to make rounds and see both of our families. My mom had Thanksgiving at her house and it was wonderful. The house was full (26 people) and the most food I think we have ever had. The best part was the kids! We have not had a lot of kids around for the past years and know it seems like there are more kids than adults!
After spending time at my mom's we went to see Scott's family and spent a lot time with his mom and brothers. Again the nieces and nephews were all there providing lots of excitement. Overall we had a great holiday.
We spent the next day shopping for some Christmas presents and Christmas decorations. While Scott was at the Kentucky game on Saturday I decorate the house for Christmas. Now we just have to get a tree. I think we are getting a balled tree so we can plant it at the house and have a tree in our yard!
Also, we are in the waiting period to test for pregnancy. We are pretty sure the Clomid made me ovulate this month now we just have to wait until we can take a home pregnancy test! Keeping our fingers crossed for some exciting news to share for Christmas!

Where the Sidewalk Ends

So my favorite book when I was little was "Where the Sidewalk Ends" by Shel Silverstein. Today I was at school and one of the teachers I teach with had the CD to go with book. I never knew such a thing existed. I must confess I am sitting at my house listening to "Where the Sidewalk Ends" : )
I can't wait the book to my little one and now we can listen to this hilarious reading of it!

Weimaraner Reunion

This weekend was Thanksgiving at the lake. Our friend PJ has a cabin down at Cumberland at every year has an early Thanksgiving dinner at the cabin. PJ and his girlfriend is who we got our Weimaraner Milly from. So the decided to have a "birthday" reunion for the puppies. They have the mom Ella and one puppy Abigail. Also, PJ's sister has a puppy (Lily) and the brought here.

There were four Weimaraners playing all night long! At one point there were six dogs with us. Good thing everyone there loves dogs!

As you can see in the pictures everyone had a great time! You don't want to know how hard it was to get all four of those dogs on the couch for their picture. We never could get everyone looking at the same time!

The New Do

Here is my new haircut. I tired not to get too much cut off but I did have her stack the back up. Also, we thinned it out a lot.

The color is back to dark. I took the blonde highlights out since it is winter!

Back to Normal

Well the side effects are gone but it took a couple of days. I took my last pill on Tuesday night and Friday was the first day I felt "normal". I think the Clomid is working I "feel" like I am ovulating but only time will tell. We are not doing the ovulation predictors because it is just too stressful worrying about everything. Hopefully the Holidays will bring good news for everyone. Thanksgiving will be soon to know but by Christmas we will definitely know!

Clomid Days 3,4 & 5

Okay so the Clomid finally starting causing some side effects. I have had this strange anxious, nervous feeling. It is like I am jittery and my skin has the crawling feeling. It did not start until Monday but has been pretty constant everyday since. Also, I have had some hot flashes especially during the night.
Over all it has not been that bad and will continue to take it if we do not get pregnant this next month.
Tonight was my last pill so I hope the side effects are gone in the next couple of days.

On another note my new camera came in so the next time my hair doesn't look like I was in a tornado I will take a picture of my NEW hair!

Clomid Day 2

I have survived my second round of Clomid. I really do not think I am going to have any side effects since I am on such a low dosage.
I have basically just told myself I am not going to have side effects and thing it is a mind over matter thing.
I probably won't update about the Clomid anymore unless I do start to have side effects.
Scott and I have decided to use the ovulation strips while we are trying this month so we can determine if the Clomid is working. My doctor said you can only take Clomid for 6 months. So if I take the 50 mg dose all 6 months and it doesn't work. I can't up my dosage and take a higher dosage for another 6 months.
Therefore, I thought it would be a good idea to do the ovulation strips and try to figure out if the Clomid made me ovulate or not.
Then when I go back for my check up I can talk about increasing the dosage. You have to go back for a one month check up while on Clomid because it can cause cysts on your ovaries. Which I am more inclined to get cysts on my ovaries because I have PCOS (poly-cystic ovary syndrome).
Thanks to all who ask questions about my progress and pray for Scott and I to become pregnant.
You all will be the first to know! Well after mommas and best friends!

Clomid Day One

So I took my first dose of Clomid last night and no side effects!
We are really excited to be starting the Clomid process especially since I just had my surgery to flush my tubes. I know we both are have our hopes up a lot that we are going to get pregnant immediately because of the surgery. But if we don't get pregnant month one we will be okay with it and just keep trying. I am sort of hoping to have good baby news to share for Christmas : )
We will just keep our fingers crossed!

Disclaimer

*Disclaimer* for unacceptable behaviors such as moodiness and hot flashes! I am getting ready to start my first round of Clomid, so if I am a little "odd" (odder than usual) please excuse me! I am only taking 50 mg. once a day SO I shouldn't have too many side effects but you never know.
I will keep everyone posted as we hope for the baby dust to come our way.

Same Ole' Same Ole'

So I haven't updated for awhile... but honestly there has not been that much going on. I go to work everday and on the weekends I work on homework. Woo Hoo! Exciting I know!

Last week was stressful because I missed 3 days of work because I was sick and had to go to a training. I would have much rather worked sick. It was so crazy coming back to everything backed up.

I am excited that I have Tueday off for Election Day. I do not have anything planned besides working out and working on homework.

Our Halloween Costume

Here it is! Our Halloween Costume we wore to Marci's Party. I think it is pretty self explanatory.
Since it was a funny costume and everyone knows what it is, Scott and I are putting our heads together to come up with something else for our party this Saturday. Who knows what we will think up next!?!

Comments

Okay... so know I have it set up so people can comment on my blog. I didn't even know people couldn't comment until my mom pointed it out. Way to go Mom for being Blog Savvy! Check out my Mom's page. It is in my blog roll.

Procrastination

Procrastination is the story of my life. I work on my homework through out the week I really do. But then Sunday gets here (the day before class) and I am like "OH, I have a TON more to do"

Seriously! Why do I not manage my time better?

I know every week that I have a ton of stuff to do and I know my professor is the pickiest woman EVER so why do I make myself spend 5 hours starring at the computer.

It doesn't help that I am an Internet junky and spend half of my time checking Myspace/Facebook/Emails. Or catching up on the news/celebrity gossip/friend's blogs.

I wish there was a control on my computer where I could set a timer. You must be working in Word for X amount of minutes before you can play.

Okay, back to the homework that is still not finished! But it is really close to being done enough for me. They shouldn't call it a ROUGH draft if it isn't suppose to look rough : )

Halloween Party

Tonight Scott and I are going to a Halloween party and I am so excited. I Love fall and I love dressing up for a Halloween. Our costume is a funny couples costume so I don't want to give it away.

After this week's party and next week when we have friend over at our house I will post a picture. Well that is if I can get my hands on a digital camera since we have not replaced ours yet.

Hope everyone is enjoying the beautiful fall weather!

Since I don't have my own camera to take pictures of fall I have resorted to stealing from the Internet.

My Hair is Driving Me Crazy

Big Decision

Okay so I have been growing my hair out for about a year now and do not like what it is looking like. My hairdresser says give it more time it will look good but I am debating about cutting it short again. I am sick of trying to style it. I have not had longer hair in forever!
Soooo..... I am asking my blog friends should I cut my hair back off?

Since my digital camera is broken I can not post a new picture of me. If you have not seen me in awhile it may be hard to say but I am taking suggestions : )

Can you tell I need a baby to blog about : )

Not So Broke After All

So after my surgery my doctor told me that I did not have any cysts on my ovaries or any endometriosis . WHEW! Big relief considering the last ultrasound showed a bunch of cysts on my ovaries and we thought I had endometriosis based on my symptoms.
She said all of my complications probably came from some fluid I had in my uterus. Also, she flushed out my fallopian tubes while she was doing the surgery and that should speed up conception as well. On top of that I am going to start my clomid next cycle for sure.
I have continued to read up on clomid and am a little iffy about all of the side effects but I only take it for 5 days and I am on the smallest dose possible so I think I will survive.
I will update soon probably while I am having an insomniac hot flash in the middle of the night, but only if my blurred vision isn't so bad that I can't see the computer.
On a happy note Scott and I bought an ellipitcal machine to keep me skinny until I do get pregnant! I would take a picture of it but my digital camera is broken : (

Recovery

So I have recovered from my surgery. Overall it was not that bad. The gas they put inside of you is the worst part. My shoulders and chest have hurt so bad the past couple of days. Also, my incisions have started getting sore and bruised. But I know surgery can be a lot worse. I have just enjoyed laying around the past three days. Hopefully this weeekend I can get out and about like normal so I will be ready for my week back to work.
Also, I have been reading up on Clomid here lately. I am going to start taking it with my next cycle. I am a little concerned about some of the side effects that it has. The twins I am fine with but the other yucky stuff (hot flashes, nausea, blurred vision etc...) I could do without.
But whatver it takes to get a baby here!

I Survived!

Well I lived to tell about my first surgery! And it really wasn't that bad after all. The doctor said things looked a lot better than what we were initially thinking. SO hopefully it will all be worth and I will be a mommy to be again soon!
Thanks for everyone who thought of me, prayed for me and checked up on me!

Tomorrow is the Big Day

Well tomorrow is when I am having my surgery. Overall I am happy to be having the surgery and start the Chlomid. I know it what I need to do to get pregnant but I am not looking forward to having surgery. I have never had surgery before besides having my wisdom teeth taken out. I will just be glad when it is this time tomorrow and it is all over.
Even though I know the actual pain won't be until then I will at least be through with the having surgery and the being put to sleep part.
Wish me luck!

Surgery

So I will be having surgery on October 9th while I am on Fall Break from school. I am really excited that this will fix some of my problems and increase my chances of getting pregnant. Basicaly they are are going to get rid of all my cysts on my ovaries and burn out any of the scar tissue from my endometreosis.
Also, I will begin taking chlomid which is a mild fertility drug.
I know this sounds very aggressive since we have only been trying for 6 months but due to all my complications and history of female troubles my doctor thinks we are making the best decision.
Again I thank anyone who is praying for us.

Still trying....

Another update for any of you who are still checking the blog hoping for a baby posting. We are still trying and are now choosing to have the surgery I was suppose to have in the summer. My doctor is going to go in and check things out. See if we can figure out what is or isn't going on. And then we are going to start on Chlomid. It is a drug that increases your ovulation. Which means I will be at a 15% higher chance to have twins. Oh well! I want a baby and I will take two if that is what I get.
Hope to post soon with a "positive" update.
Thanks for everyones thoughts and prayers.

Reflection and Update

I want to say I am very thankful for all of you that have been so supportive to Scott and I. It was a sad experience but overall it was more of a blessing than anything. As most of you know my ability to get pregnant had been in question and I was getting ready to have surgery to help things along. I believe God was with me at my pre-op that day to say "Wait a minute, lets keep trying without surgery or medication"
We are grateful to know we are able to get pregnant and are going to continue to try. Since I lost the pregnancy so early we were able to starting trying again right away. Hopefully sooner or later I will be re-posting belly shots and nausea stories. It will just be a little further along when I decide to tell the world next time!
Other, than that my summer has consisted of going to class, getting my room ready, and trying to console my Weimaraner that is suffering from severe separation anxiety!
Can't wait to post again!

Monday, June 25, 2007

After a long two days Scott and I have discovered our pregnancy did not develop. We are sad that we are not pregnant, however we both feel blessed it happened the way it did. The doctors say the pregnancy never developed beyond a brief fertilization. We both know God has his own plan for when we are meant to have a child. We look forward to the next couple of months and will continue to try. Thank you to everyone who has thought about us during this time and we look forward to sharing our next pregnancy with you.
