A High What?

Yeah so my water broke this morning..... sorta. I woke up at 4:00 am and 5:00 am with something definitely going on (I will spare you the details) and was like maybe I should go to the doctor. So after calling my sister-in-law who works on labor hall and the doctor it was decided I should go in and get things checked out.
So I get there having some contractions feeling like alright this is the day. Doctor comes in the check me and yeah my water broke but it is a high leak. Never heard of that before and still sorta confused about what it is. Basically I am leaking fluid but the membrane is still intact at my cervix so I am not at a risk for infection. Therefore I was sent home until contractions get bad enough to make me dilate.
Fun times! Parker sure is teaching me a lesson in patience but I really need on in life. Hopefully the ball will start rolling sooner or later. If not when I go to the doctor on Monday Onan said she would induce. I don't know if she meant that day or Tuesday but there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

Cradle for our Bedroom

Right before our one year anniversary Scott and I bought this antique cradle at an auction. We are going to use it in our bedroom for Parker to sleep in before we move him into the nursery.
My mom and step dad helped fixed it up to get ready for Parker. My step dad put a bottom in it and cleaned it up. Mom made the beautiful bumper and sheets to go in it.
Last night they delivered it and it looks great in our room. We have it right beside our bed for easy access during late night feedings.
We have been so blessed to have a Grammie and Grampy that are so involved and willing to do so much to help us out. Now we are just waiting on Parker to bless us with his presence so they can really start spoiling him!

Doctor's Appointment

I was 2 centimeters dilated! They didn't say anything about how thinned I am so I am going to assume it was the same at 80%. However, they did strip my membranes which should speed things up. If I do not go this weekend they want me to come back in on Monday to talk about inducing me. I do not know how soon they will do it but it would be next week. I am just hoping I go on my own before then since she stripped my membranes.

Still Waiting....

I think Parker heard Mommy talking about going to her due date so much that is going to make it happen! I know he his hanging out in there for a reason so I am try to wait it out as patiently as possible. I do not feel as bad as I could. It is really just the feeling of still being pregnant that I want to end. I have not had a lot of problems with swelling which is a miracle! My back pain is actually the best it has been my whole pregnancy and my heartburn has gotten better since he has dropped down a little. However, being 5 foot 2 inches does not give baby a lot of room to hand out so he sits in my ribs and on my bladder at the same time now!
This should be my last week of work! When I put in for my maternity leave I put that September 5th would be my last day and I think I am going to go with it. One I really think I will go on my own by then or Dr. Onan may want to induce at the end of this week or beginning of next week. I have to see a different doctor when I go on Tuesday but I am going to ask for Dr. Onan to consult with her about my STILL being pregnant.
39 weeks is full term and I have no desire to achieve being pregnant for 40 weeks! Grammy will post pictures as soon as she can! She is going to have to come by the house when I am still in teh hospital to check on our dogs and she said she would post pics for me : )

NOTHING

Yeah thats right NOTHING. I went to the doctor today and NOTHING has changed. Still around 80% thinned and 1 centimeter. Seriously not happy about the whole situation. On top of that I didn't get to see my doctor and I won't get to see her next week either.

Baby Sling

I broke down and bought one! I was all about making my own but a friend of mine bought one from the same store on Ebay and it was a real good deal. A lot of places sell them for $60 or more and I found this one for $23. I doubt I could have bought the material and rings for that price.

Nursery Update

The perfect final touch to Parker's nursery. My step-dad (Grampy) made this beautiful bookshelf for Parker's room. It is PERFECT! It one of my favorite items in the nursery.
He also made this name plate to go across the top of the bookshelf which looks really cool with the nursery colors.
To top it all they gave me the lamp I was wanting that goes with Parker's bedding.

Now all we need is Parker to finish off the nursery.

Doctor Update

I had my 37 week appointment today and all is well. Baby is good and I am good : )
I had thinned out more and I am 1 centimeter dilated. So I am still making progress. We also had a suprise ultrasound. The doctor wasn't sure she felt the head where it should be so we had an ultrasound to make sure he wasn't breech. He is head down with his butt in my left ribs and feet in my right ribs. Which explains the discomfort when he moves. She also assured us it was a little boy and told us it looks like he is going to have some hair.


Tonight my step dad brought over the bookshelf he made for the nursery and it is perfect! I will put pictures up next time I post it is too late to upload pictures right now. We are now just waiting to bring precious Parker home. I am one big bag of mixed emotions. 90% excited, 5% nervous and 5% scared or something like that! As much as I wanted to go as close to my due date as possible I just want to get him here! Every day I feel like it could be any day now. I have lots of contractions and tightness while I am work. I just wish I could get everything settled away before I have to leave but I guess we are operating on Parker's time now!

Enough ramblings for the night! I will keep you posted! My mom is already to come over and post pics of Parker as soon as she can!

Our Car Seat and Stroller

I really like the one we decided on! Scott has a different car seat and base that we bought from a friend. But I think mine is pretty : ) and it was really easy for me to operate in the store!

Doctor Update and Shopping Spree

I went to the doctor today and everything is right on track! I am 50% thinned about and 1/2 a centimeter dilated! Woo hoo! Something is going on down there so that leads me to think Parker may be motivated to come out on his own. She said she wouldn't expect to go any sooner than 2-3 weeks from now. But you never know.

After my doctor's appointment I went shopping on all my wonderful gift cards I have received. I bought breast feeding necessities, pacifiers, bottles, a bottle sterilizer, bottle drying rack, car seat, stroller, a monitor and diapers! I think we finally have EVERYTHING! I even found a girl with a bumbo I am going to purchase AND we bought an extra car seat and base from a friend of ours. We are READY. Well as ready as someone can be for their first child, right? : )

Wish us look as we wait on Parker to make his debut! I start school tomorrow and am a little bummed : ( Fat and pregnant going back to work after a LAZY summer is going to be rough!
