Pregnancy Massage

Yesterday I went to a bridal shower for my friend Katy. The shower started with some time at a spa in Lexington. I decided to splurge and have a pregnancy massage. It was great! It was just upper body (head, shoulders, and back) but it was wonderful. I was able to lay on my stomach in this pregnancy pillow thing. If you have been pregnant you know that you can't lay on your stomach once you start to show a lot and it is a treat to lay on your stomach. The baby really like the massage. He moved all over the place the whole time! I definitely think I will sign up for a couple more massages when I get bigger and my back hurts more.

Halfway there....

WOO HOO! Halfway there! It really has gone by pretty fast. I am so excited to know the gender and be able to start decorating the nursery. I feel great and look forward to this part of the pregnancy where I feel the best. I know it will soon turn to fat, uncomfortable and tired! There are some pregnancy "symptoms" I deal with but nothing that keeps me from functioning. Heartburn is the worst right now. Other than that I still have nosebleeds and my ears are all stopped up. I did start swelling some today at school : ( Most of all I am enjoying feeling the baby move and feel like I am finally bonding with him.

I also want to thank everyone that has checked my blog and left me message or comments. It means so much to Scott and I have to have so many people that are interested in our pregnancy and Baby Montgomery : ) I know he will be loved by many!

It's a.............

SO Scott and I went to the doctor yesterday and had an ultrasound! It was awesome! We were able to see so much of the baby but didn't find out the gender while we were there. We were able to leave with a really neat picture of the baby's face. (The other was in a sealed envelope)
We went to my best friend's Casey house to wait to open the envelope with our family. We had a really nice turn out of about 30 people. Once everyone was there we all gathered together to hear the news.

And it is a............

Belly Picture and Gender Reveal Shower Update

So since I have grown and am actually showing since my last belly picture. He is a picture I took on Tuesday (18 weeks). I can not believe how big I look in these pictures and that I am actually putting them on here. But everyone says "Oh you will be so glad you took pictures" The sad thing is I am not even halfway there! I will really feel HUGE by the time 40 weeks rolls around.
Scott and I will now know the gender on Friday the 18th. That is the day we are going to the doctor. We had wanted to do our gender reveal that day originally but Scott's mom was going to be out of town. Unfortunately his grandmother fell and his mom had to cancel her vacation. But since the 25th was not the best day for us we are moving up the "shower". What we are going to do now is come home from the doctor to Casey's house and open the envelope with our family present. We are so READY to find out. I don't know how Scott ever thought we could wait until September!

Make Room for Baby

Well Scott and I finally cleared out the room that will be the nursery. Scott has been wanting to do it forever but I had been putting it off because I didn't want to move my computer. But today we moved the computer to our front bedroom and emptied out the room that will be the nursery. We also cleaned out 2 closets in the process. It really did not take that long at all it was just getting me to get motivated to do it.
I am really wanting to start on the nursery as soon as we find out what we are having. My bedding is finally at Babies R' us! I am almost 100% certain I am going to use the last ABC bedding I posted. But when I saw it online it was a little more boyish than it had looked online. Oh well! I have more than enough time.

SPRING BREAK!

I love being on Spring Break. I have gotten a lot accomplished around the house. I am cleaning, cooking every night and keeping up with the laundry! Oh Wait! That is what I am suppose to do all the time : )

I have also gotten a lot of work done for my Masters Class ( 2 quizzes, 1 final, 2 presentations and some work on my research project to be exact)

I read a Mary Higgins Clark book today!

AND I have been back at the park walking. I love to walk outside with Milly but it is hard to get into town to walk when I am working and I have class. My mom and I have walked everyday this week and are going to keep it up until the rain stops us.
The picture is of Milly after our walk. I can't wait to take Milly for walks with the baby!

The Baby IS Moving!

Okay so I know it is a little early but I have really been analyzing what is going on with my stomach and it is definitely baby movement. When I was at the doctor she said I was thin enough that I could feel the baby this early even with it being my first one. I think the first time I felt the baby was a couple days ago but last night I was feeling all kinds of stuff (and no it was not gas). It makes it more real and I feel more connected to the baby.
I haven't really had a lot of connection to the baby yet. But the other morning when I was laying on the couch feeling whatever I was feeling and thinking/hoping it was the baby moving I decided it is a BOY! There is really no reason to why I am thinking that but right now my money is on it being a BOY! We shall see.
Since I am going to print this blog when all is said and done for my pregnancy journal I am going to give a little symptom update more for records than anything.

First 6 weeks- TIRED and a little bit of nausea and heartburn
6 weeks to 12 weeks- TIRED, heartburn, nosebleeds, back aches
12 weeks until current - heartburn, backaches, nosebleeds, mood swings

Being Crafty and Doctor's Appointment Update

I made a wreath for my front door last night. I love blue hydrangea (they were my wedding flowers) and have always wanted a wreath with them on it. I can never find what I want when I go out. So on our way home from Lexington Scott and I stopped by Hobby Lobby to look for wreaths and they had NOTHING so I decided to try to make my own. All in all I am pretty happy with it. I am nervous about putting it outside because we get so much wind. I guess I will find out pretty quick how good my wreath making skills are.
Okay now on to more important business. I went to the doctor yesterday and everything went great. The heartbeat was 144-146 and the baby had grown (I guess she can tell that when she measures my stomach). I however had not gained any weight even though I look like it. She said everything is just shifting and that is why I look so different. We also scheduled our appointment to find out the gender. I will go on Friday, April 18th! BUT we won't actually find out until Friday, April 25th when we have our gender reveal party. So my closest relatives and best friend will know for like a week. But we will know in less than one month!
I promise I will take a picture of my belly soon. I meant to last night but I had already put on my pajamas before I remembered.

Baby Registry

Well obviously Scott and I haven't registered for everything but I have started a registry on Amazon.com. I LOVE children's books and have decided I will use the ABC bedding and display favorite children's books in the nursery. I am also going to start collecting the "book pets" (thanks Marci for the cute name) to have to go with the books. That way when we read a book we can have a stuffed animal to cuddle with at the same time.

SO... I have started a baby registry on Amazon.com You can just go to their website and then to baby registries and search for me.

This link may take your right to the baby registry page. Basically I am a sucker for any good children's book. I thought it would be nice to have books to read with my little one that other people had bought him or her. Just make sure to put your name in the book so when we can read I can remember who selected the book.

Please do not feel like you have to buy me a book or buy one of the books on my list. I just found some recommenced baby books and then selected some of my childhood favorites. Honestly by the time the baby gets here I will have probably already filled a bookshelf or two!

Gender Reveal

Okay so most people know Scott and I have decided to find out what we are having. Our original plan was to not find out but I couldn't take it. The thought of all that yellow and green was starting to make me sick! Well Scott still wanted to find in an exciting way so borrowing from Marci and Becky I decided to do a gender reveal party.
Scott and I will go to the doctor and they will write the gender on a piece of paper. I am going to give that paper to my best friend Casey and she is going to plan a small shower for close family. When Scott and I arrive at the party we will see the decorations and know what we are having. Other people will only know for about a week or so before we do. People can bring a gender related gift if they want of they can just wait until my real shower.
I think it was a good compromise for finding out the gender and I am so excited to find out. I am 20 weeks the last part of April. However, that falls right in the middle of CATS testing and I obviously will not be missing work during CATS testing. So it may be the first of May after CATS testing is finished before I can schedule my ultrasound appointment to find out.
I go to the doctor on the 28th of this month and I should schedule that appointment then!
